A screening is the first step for every family. It shows exactly where reading is breaking down, so everything that follows is built around what your child actually needs.
How does it work?

1Fill out the intake form.
This is the starting point for every request.

2Once reviewed.
Screenings are scheduled through email.

3The screening happens in person.
It takes approximately one to two hours.

4You get a written report and a Zoom meeting.
We schedule a Zoom meeting to walk through the findings and recommendations for your student's future, usually within four weeks.

5You get recommendations.
These may include what to do at home, help for a school meeting, next steps for a tutor or teacher, a referral to other services, or a suggestion for a full evaluation if the data point that way.

6If a compatible opening exists, it may be offered.
Only screened students are considered for future intervention openings in the schedule. However, a screening doesn't hold or guarantee a seat.
Already have recent testing? Send it first. We'll review it and tell you whether a screening is still needed, or whether what you have already answers the question.
Is this the right fit?
Being honest about fit early saves everyone time and money. This may not be the right fit if you're looking for occasional tutoring rather than structured intervention, or if the need falls outside reading and language.
Either way, no family leaves empty-handed. You get an honest answer.

Why is there no waitlist?
There's no waitlist here, and that's on purpose. When a spot opens, it goes to a screened student whose needs, age, and schedule fit the opening. That way, every placement is the right match.
If you choose, after a screening your child's name is kept on file, and we contact you if an opening for your child arises.
